The Makara Library

Reading empowers individuals, and access to knowledge is key to a healthy society.  The Makara Library specializes in global arts & culture titles that promote a variety of perspectives, including narratives by people of color, immigrants & refugees, LGBTQ communities, and other traditionally underrepresented groups.  Library patrons can also borrow a variety of general interest books including  cookbooks, children's books, art catalogs, thrillers, and recent bestsellers.

Our special collection features reference books on Leonora Carrington, Remedios Varo, Belkis Ayón, international illustrators, and rare art books.
